Prayer for Boak’s Chariot
I salute you, charioteer,
because you brought me dreams,
the colour of life
the darkness of death,
and you spiced the boring days of my childhood.
Chariot crossing the fields of war,
the gates of heaven,
Two Arabian horses are the motor for your vehicle,
like pistons in a Corvette
powder in a 45 magnum
or the the sword of a bullfighter penetrating the back of the bull.
I want to be your companion,
I don't care if you are wise or stupid
I will take care of your horses,
I'll oil the chariot wheels
sharpen your spear
clean your shield,
warn you of the enemy,
at the moment of victory
I will bring you a scotch, single malt, on the rocks.
